This was my breakfast view. Don't try and calculate the time of day... I realize the sun is too far away for it to be 7am.

This was before I destroyed all that fluff with the snowmobile.

Those tracks are Dave's truck for when he left to go work in Burns Lake at the mill rebuild (the one that exploded).

That stick is the well notifier.

Check out our massive pond. I did a donut on it with the sled and almost sunk. A bit mushy still.

Who knew you could write this much about one scenery photo!

1 year on the ranch

Before... obviously
After: random and cozy pieced together kitchen

After: basement dug and floor installed and rooms built
After: basement dug and floor installed and rooms built

Before: digging out the basement

After: trees and shed removed where the car is

Before: tiny pond and foundation to the right

After: gigondo pond (aka 'the rink') and foundation flattened and buried

Toys

Dave's bosses' side-by-side. Good fun!

Fun times ahead!

I would write the lengthy list of projects we are going to attempt with this excavator but it is just too lengthy.

Pond Expansion

There has been a breech!! Dad is expanding our pond (why? Why not?!! Who doesn't like water?!). He broke the dike in between the pond and the expansion today :)

Best Day Ever

Uhhhhhhggg squares 12" .... so glad this big area is done and now I can sponge paint it :D
(Look how Norah has 0 toys left...)

Backwood not Backward

Drying laundry, painting the kitchen floor and new toy (Norah's first bike) from my parents. It has a cool shifter which requires driving with one hand and reaching down :P

Garden

There, I've used 1/15th of my garden space.

Farm Fun

Derek taking a ride in the moving shed pulled by Dad!

Edge of civilization

Cell phone coverage in our area... awesome.

Home

1) Hallway
2) Rocky guarding the yard
3) Some of Mom and Dad's work (giant wood stash)

Operation: Stove

New to us stove going to its new home.

Progress!!!

A few more weeks and we should be able to move in.

Bathroom- mudding needs to be finished.

Cleaned the appliances that came with the house.

The Quiet Business Room

Reused an old door from the house, for now anyways, maybe we can move in soon!

I'm mudding the bathroom drywall right now.

Depersonalization

I wish this depersonalization would go away.

It feels like I am on auto-pilot, in a dream, viewing myself from above, asleep, disconnected, disengaged, unreal, unfocused, out-of-touch, the world is passing me by, going through the motions, like a machine, delusional, emotionless, like a zombie... (that's all I could come up with, if you have any more suggestions, please add them in the comment section - humor helps!)

The worst part is being fully aware that I am in this state and may do something crazy at any moment without realizing it (stay tuned...)

Someone told me this is brought on by stress... but I don't feel stressed. She also said most people don't feel stressed when they are. AHHHH THE CYCLE OF PERPETUAL ZOMBIENESS. Will I ever be cured? I will try find a doctor in town - maybe he will refer me to a shrink again who will tell me to touch lampposts and tree bark as I go along my day to reconnect with reality. That shrink almost made ME feel normal...

Sound dampening bathroom

You can take a loud dump in this baby.

Old New Year Pics

A new family tradition perhaps? Oliebollen & snowmobiling at the Krabbendam's on New Year's Day.

What he does best

Dave wiring the bathroom. A bedroom will be on the right side eventually.

Rooms

House with a bunch of stuff that came with it... Until we can purchase stuff that doesn't look trailerparkish. The kitchen appliances are not in the places I'd like them to be... Have to wait until I get cabinets that don't come in 10ft sections.

PS. Don't ask why there's a kettle and pan in the bathroom.

House...

Because people (Steve) were complaining of lack of pictures...

The bathroom is framed in. The master bedroom will eventually be built on the right side of it where there is currently an oven. The kitchen will be on the left side of the bathroom.

One day there will be two staircases, 1 up 1 down to our mini basement.

Check out the view from our kitchen table.
