Temporary solution
To keep it warm inside till we decide what we want to do- custom window, sliding door, deck, no deck?
Ooo floor!
Dave is almost finished sheeting the floor, the stove got moved to the main floor temporarily and the old staircase got dragged inside as well.
Quote of the day
“In the world it is called Tolerance, but in hell it is called Despair...the sin that believes in nothing, cares for nothing, seeks to know nothing, interferes with nothing, enjoys nothing, hates nothing, finds purpose in nothing, lives for nothing, and remains alive because there is nothing for which it will die.”

Due
Today was my first due date - calculated from my 10 week scan. I celebrated it by snowmobiling in the woodlot behind our property and building walls in the basement of our house.
Next due date is Dec 8 which the midwives came up with. Don't ask me how cuz I had no regular dates to go on...

Running out of steam/time
My due date - according up my first ultrasound - is this Saturday. Midwives tell me Dec 8, though. Anyway, it's close and I'm exhausted today from my 4am visits to the snow-covered loo.
It's annoying when you chop kindling but can't pick it up without sitting on the ground first. Belllllllly!
Sleep time, zzzzzzzzzz.
House progress
Here's a few more pictures from my camera instead of my phone. They aren't in order as I'm uploading them via the Blogger app on my iPhone which lacka certain editing features- ahh the country life, no Internet :)

Bragfest
Look what I made:
It's a wool soaker (diaper cover). It's waterproof and self cleaning. Requires a washing about every three weeks and maybe a re-lanolizing every couple months to keep up the water-repelling.

Basement
Our 1/3rd basement is now dug. It will be used for storing utility tanks, laundry, woodstove, and bad children. Concrete is being poured tomorrow.
Fashion before comfort
Dressed for success. -17 at our new property. Unfortunate the guy digging out our new basement quit this morning. Probably because his tonka truck kept getting frozen blocks of clay stuck in its bucket. Boooo, we have to find someone else now.
Can't sleep
Baby is annoyed that I was cleaning and packing all evening and is now doing stretches and spins.
Sleeping at the inlaws tonight as our house is completely emppttyy. Mixed feelings! I said bye to about 100 people at work today and it felt like a dream.
Looked like the sky was clearing up tonight :)
We still have to go back to our house tomorrow morning to throw away some garbage in the shop and pick up the trailer and then we will be gone forever!

3 days...
Of the 50% of the stuff we have left of at our house, we have 85% of it packed. It's difficult to have everything ready to go but still function day to day with cooking.
I have two days of work left!!! Today I had a 'surprise' baby shower at work. I got a handmade quilt and millions of dollars (because we have no room left in our trailer for more stuff). I'm almost finished training my replacement, it has been a little frustrating to say the least because she has no experience with the financial program and doesn't seem to be picking it up... My boss is a bit worried. I told my boss that I was changing my phone number so that she wouldn't be able to call me :) Then she told me my maternity leave was cancelled :P
I've figured I can't take evening naps no matter how tired I am because then I cannot sleep at night worth shite. It's annoying. I'm getting some experience of waking up every hour anyway so that's a plus.
We are going to the lawyer tomorrow to finalize our house sale and purchase and then it will be official!!
We should be driving to Smithers on Thursday morning after spending the night at Dave's parents because our house should be 100% packed on Wednesday night (also my last day of work...) will let you know how that goes or if someone has a stress attack, etc.
Also, we have no solid ideas for baby names so helpful suggestions are welcome. We like the classics, and names that sound good (mature) when the kid becomes an adult.

1 week left
We are moving IN A WEEEKKKK (or less).
My last day of work is next Wednesday!! My work is planning a 'suprise' baby shower for my baby on Monday but I keep overhearing people talk about it so they definitely don't win the secrecy award of the year! It's a good thing I am going off work soon because it feels like 2/3rds of my brain is being used for other things right now and I keep doing silly mistakes. And I feel like I'm a perpetual state of zombiness.
I keep taking naps at 7pm because my eyes start closing by themselves.
My midwife (and I) say that our baby is VERY SQUIRMY. She was trying to listen for the heartbeat and it was freaking out and flailing limbs around (as usual). It especially hates it when I put my seatbelt on, it procedes to jab me in the ribcage incessantly until I take it off. At least so far it is sleeping whenever I do and isn't keeping me up at night with its calisthenics. HYPER BABY. It is probably going to be an un-snuggleable baby just like I was. However, Dave was very snuggly so maybe it will get a mix of both genes.
We are about 64% packed. The rest is all last minute packing. It kind of sucks because we have to clean the house after all our crap is out and then move to Smithers pretty much the next morning (weather pending). We might take 2 days to drive up to Smithers, depending on how I feel- I get a sore back easily so we shall see - and I have to drive my car all the way there and I heard its going to be snowing there all of this week!

In honour of the occasion
Here are some pictures of the property we recently signed a mortgage for!!
Thank you BV Credit Union for finally coming through (after making us jump through every hoop under the sun) (and coming up with an almost risk-proof mortgage--- somewhat of a builders loan- they require an inspection after we get everything 'finished').

Is this a compliment? ...
Someone at work told me my face had "filled out" and it "looks good". HAHA! She's lucky I wasn't in a hitting mood that day.
I'm going to say it to the next pregnant lady I see and see her reaction.

Cool Info
We learned this at prental class when discussing the rooting instinct in babies:
How does a baby kangaroo get into its mother's pouch?
Baby kangaroos spend a great deal of their early development in their mother's pouch instead of the majority of their time in the womb. Since they are so small, however, some people wonder how a joey reaches it's mother's pouch alone.

Size
A baby kangaroo weighs less than 2 grams and measures about 2 1/2 centimeters long, according to ZooBorns.com
Gestation
Kangaroos have a 33 day gestation period. They are born at a very early time in development.
Journey
With its own strength, a newborn joey crawls from the mother's birth canal to her pouch, according to ZooBorns.com. Blindness makes this a difficult feat.
Assistance
A joey's small size makes it difficult for the mother to give it any help crawling to the pouch. Instead of touching her joey, she licks a path from her birth canal to her pouch for him to follow.
Motivation
A baby kangaroo must crawl to his mother's pouch so he can attach himself to her nipple and drink her milk. He stays in her pouch drinking milk for over 70 days.
Zzz
We're moving in three weeks :)
I'm getting more sleep deprived every day because of my massive belly. I toss all night long.
Here I just woke up from a lunch time car nap mmmm!

31 down
9 (or 12) to go...
Have you ever felt what seems like baby having a seizure? I read they might be uterine contractions? I've had it twice, feels like an accelerated heart rate or twitching that lasts about 10 seconds.
I read they could also be the baby shaking loose from an uncomfortable position. Both times it happened I was laying on my back.

Nerds
We received some semi-positive news from the bank yesterday. We're not quite cracking out the champagne yet- but I am looking for the uncorker now... We're getting cautious in our old age.
